Visit Main Street on a sunny day, and
you'll find folks congregated in Falls Park to picnic, stroll and
admire the park's focal point – a picturesque waterfall on the Reedy
River. On summer nights, there's likely to be a "Shakespeare in the
Park" performance underway, or a GreenvilleDrive baseball game at Fluor
Field (in the West End, a few blocks away). Classical concerts,
musicals, ballets, and theater productions frequently appear at the
nearby Peace Center, and at the other end of Main Street lies the Bi-Lo
Center, where you can catch major pop concerts and sports events. In
addition to great theater and music, Greenville offers several museums
that cultivate an appreciation for fine art. A short distance from Main
Street, the Greenville County Museum of Art is famous for its collection
of paintings by Andrew Wyeth, while the Museum & Galleries at Bob
Jones University showcases original works by Old Masters. Outside the
city, several parks provide opportunity for more adventure and discovery
of the area's natural treasures.
